  • 110K + 15% bonus when you bill 1800 hours Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with at least 2 years of practice experience to join our firm.
The successful candidate will handle civil and commercial litigation matters with a focus on real estate and construction disputes and contract work. This role requires strong litigation skills, excellent drafting and analytical abilities, and the ability to manage client relationships and case strategy in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Manage a diverse caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters from intake through resolution, including real estate and construction disputes. Conduct thorough legal research and prepare memoranda, briefs, motions, and pleadings for state and federal courts. Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including construction contracts, commercial agreements, and real estate documents. Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials; coordinate with experts, witnesses, and outside counsel as needed. Handle discovery tasks including written discovery, depositions, document review, and e-discovery management. Advise clients on risk, strategy, compliance, and contract interpretation; maintain regular client communication and expectations. Perform due diligence for real estate transactions and construction-related matters, including title and lien issues. Collaborate with partners and other attorneys to develop case strategy and support business development efforts. Supervise and mentor junior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff; manage time and billing in accordance with firm policies. Maintain timely, accurate case files and use case management and e-filing systems effectively. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Admission to practice in Illinois Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience, preferably in civil and commercial litigation. Experience with real estate and construction law matters and familiarity with construction contracts, mechanic's liens, and related statutes preferred. Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, with experience reviewing and preparing commercial and real estate agreements. Proven courtroom experience, including hearings, depositions, and trial participation, is highly desirable. Excellent legal writing, analytical, and research skills; strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, with strong client-facing and communication skills. Proficiency with case management software, e-filing systems, and standard office productivity tools. Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to courthouses, job sites, and client meetings as needed.
