The Robot Garage is looking for a friendly, dependable Retail Assistant to join our team in Birmingham, Michigan. We are a small business that offers fun, hands-on experiences in robotics, coding, and engineering. As a Retail Assistant, you help facilitate these awesome activities from the front desk, serving as our information center, concierge, and brand ambassador. Think of the best customer service you've ever received—that is the standard we strive for every day. We are looking for curious individuals who can intelligently assist customers of all ages and build genuine trust with the families who walk through our doors.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Concierge:
Act as the warm, primary point of contact for families, building immediate rapport and trust with parents to ensure a seamless drop-off experience.
Event Booking:
Clearly explain and book birthday parties and various party options.
Sales & Transactions:
Accurately complete transactions for merchandise, classes, memberships, and party payments, including handling returns according to company policy.
Operational Support:
Fluidly transition between classrooms to act as the first line of support for event and class staff.
Safety & Logistics:
Maintain emergency forms for kids in camps and weekend workshops.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor. Basic knowledge of technology and willingness to learn about our products and operations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers of all ages. Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to assist colleagues as needed.
Nice To Haves:
Interest in robotics and technology. Enjoy building and creating with Lego or other mediums. Participation in or knowledge of FIRST Robotics. Experience working with kids.
