Job Description

Guest Support Specialist II Join a Team That Changes Lives Every Day At IPHNY, Inc., we believe every person deserves dignity, compassion, and the opportunity to move forward. As a Guest Support Specialist II, you will be one of the first people our guests interact with — creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for individuals experiencing homelessness and housing instability. This is more than a job. It's an opportunity to make a direct impact in your community while working alongside a passionate, mission-driven team. What You'll Do No two days are the same in this role. Guest Support Specialists help keep our programs running smoothly while building positive relationships with guests and residents.
Responsibilities may include:
Welcoming and supporting guests in a respectful, trauma-informed manner. This includes Wanding every personnel for prohibited items upon entrance to the building. Ensuring our check-in process is handled appropriately and promptly. Addressing and reacting to escalated situations, and be able to effective de-escalate and regualte expectations. Addressing and supporting clients in their needs and requests with a positive demeanor Assisting with the daily operations of the shelter or housing program Conducting regular building rounds and wellness checks Supporting crisis intervention and de-escalation efforts when needed Helping maintain a safe, clean, and structured environment Documenting incidents, services, and interactions accurately Assisting guests with basic needs, resources, and program expectations Collaborating with Case Managers and program staff to support guest success Monitoring entrances, common areas, and overall program safety Transporting guests or completing program-related errands as needed What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is dependable, compassionate, and ready to be part of a fast-paced environment where teamwork matters.
Successful candidates are:
Calm under pressure Strong communicators Reliable and professional Comfortable setting boundaries while remaining compassionate Able to work independently and as part of a team Passionate about helping vulnerable populations QualificationsRequired High School Diploma or GED Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record Ability to complete documentation and basic computer tasks Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or overnight shifts as needed Preferred Experience working in human services, shelters, behavioral health, security, customer service, or related fields Experience with crisis intervention or de-escalation Knowledge of trauma-informed care and harm reduction practices Why Join IPHNY? $25.00 per hour
