We are seeking a part-time Sunday Sexton to support our weekly gathering, perform minor cleaning, assist with room set up and clean up, and assist with building security. As part of the PMBC security team, the Sunday Sexton will help to provide a safe, clean, accessible space for worship, programs, and events. Such work will include securing a clean outdoor space (sweeping and picking up trash), setting up and taking down tables and chairs for our weekly coffee hour and other after worship events, spot cleaning bathrooms and public spaces, turning on and off lights, and securing and watching the doors during community gatherings. Additionally, the Sunday Sexton will be alert to the need for repairs and maintenance both inside and outside the building, submitting a weekly report to the church office. The successful candidate will work closely with the PMBC staff and volunteer security team. They will welcome visitors and members, working with a wide variety of personalities. They will serve as a responsible and responsive representative of the congregation. Duties and Responsibilities Arrive at 8:00 a.m. (from the Sunday after Labor Day to the Sunday before Memorial Day) and 9 a.m. (from Memorial Day to Labor Day). Depart at noon. Complete a security walk through of the inside and outside of the building before and after services. Alert staff and/or police if there is a breach of security. Prior to service, pick up trash around the building and sweep the courtyard if necessary. Prior to service, perform touch-up cleaning in bathrooms, kitchens, and public spaces (trash removed, paper supplies replenished). Set up and take down tables and chairs in Fellowship Hall for our weekly coffee hour, as directed by the Hospitality team. Unlock doors 20 minutes before programming. Remain at doors at all times while they are unlocked, welcoming people with a friendly smile and offering assistance with directions. Lock external doors once worship service has started, remaining on door security to let late-comers in. Alerting security team, staff, and/or police in the event of intrusive individuals. Following worship service, securing all external doors, checking that lights are off throughout the building and internal fire doors closed. Submit weekly report alerting the front office of building repair needs, supply ordering needs, or other noteworthy events. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications To be most successful in this role, the Sunday Sexton should have: Reliable transportation. Good customer-service and communication skills to collaborate with PMBC staff, volunteers, and visitors. An awareness of security practices and policies to maintain a safe environment for PMBC members, staff, and visitors. English language proficiency. A strong self-imposed standard for excellence and reliability. The ability to bend and lift up to 25 pounds. The ability to walk over uneven surfaces. A well kept appearance, wearing slacks or khaki pants with a PMBC polo. The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check and to complete and maintain practices in alignment with our policies.

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 3.0 - 4.0 per week
