Position Summary:

The Visitor Center Specialist is the face of Platte County for travelers, tourists, prospective residents, and our local community. This role provides friendly, informed, and professional assistance to all who walk through our doors, call, or reach out online. More than a front desk position, this role helps shape the experience people have of our community showcasing everything Platte County has to offer, from local businesses and events to history, recreation, and opportunity. We are seeking someone who is personable, dependable, coachable, and takes genuine pride in their work, their attitude, and their presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet and assist all visitors with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm Share accurate and engaging information about local attractions, businesses, events, and travel resources Manage phone calls, emails, visitor materials, and front desk operations Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Visitor Center environment at all times Keep displays, brochures, and community information current and well-stocked Support Chamber events, programs, and tourism initiatives Assist with basic data tracking, reporting, and recordkeeping Foster strong relationships with local partners, members, and businesses Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Strong communication and organizational abilities Local knowledge of Platte County or a willingness to learn quickly Comfortable with basic computer programs and office equipment Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and the ability to represent the Chamber professionally online Ability to assist with basic social media tasks such as posting, sharing updates, and engaging with the community in a positive and appropriate manner Maintains a professional online presence and understands that any content created or shared on behalf of the Chamber must reflect its standards, values, and community-focused mission Self-motivated, dependable, and community-minded High school diploma or equivalent required

Preferred Qualifications:

Tourism, hospitality, or front desk experience Familiarity with Platte County history, culture, and recreational opportunities Experience in community engagement, marketing, or public relations
