COMPANY DESCRIPTION
Perennial is a small, independently owned, farm to table restaurant located in Midtown Montgomery. We work directly with farms and purveyors across the state of Alabama, utilizing ingredients available to us and highlighting seasonality. The restaurant operates with a small, dedicated crew that values quality service.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a passionate and creative cook excited about making seasonal, nutritious food with ingredients sourced from our farms. The ideal candidate will be self-sufficient and able to work within with our ethos for sustainable operations, "slow food," and local, seasonal ingredients. Menus change frequently, so passion is a must. The kitchen is small and everyone participates in every aspect of service; you will not work at just one station. Work will include prep, line, and grill. Hours of operation are Wednesday and Thursday 4:00-9:00pm, Friday 4:00-10:00pm, Saturday 10:00-2:00, and 5:00-10:00pm.
COMMERCIAL KITCHEN EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare ingredients and cook dishes according to restaurant recipes
  • Adhere to food safety standards and regulations
  • Assist with menu planning, recipe development, and catering events
  • Maintain inventory to ensure minimal wastage and accurate ordering
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
  • Willingness and ability to learn and grow
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven experience as a Cook in a restaurant or similar environment
  • Knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
  • Understanding of food safety guidelines
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Ability to work 30-40 hours/ week
  • Professional demeanor
  • Passion for working with fresh, local ingredients is a must!
