ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Set up work station with proper tools, equipment, and supplies according to kitchen standards Inspect the cleanliness and working conditions of all tools, equipment and supplies Report kitchen equipment issues to Management immediately Check production food schedule and daily pars to ensure that daily production is organized, prioritized and on track Inform Manager of any items/supplies needed that are necessary for the day Maintain proper storage of all products as specified by health and sanitation codes Rotate food as necessary (FIFO Method) Communicate with servers in regards to guests special requests/needs Portion, prepare and cook food orders with compliance to health and safety code standards Plate and garnish dishes for presentation to guests Once service for the day is over, return all food items in clean containers to proper storage areas Clean food preparation areas, storage areas, (including walk-ins), and shelves to health and safety code standards Transport dirty pots, pans and cooking utensils to dishwashing station Restock any dry goods, fresh products, cooking wines used in production in the appropriate areas All other responsibilities as dictated by the company or Management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Effective verbal communication skills Familiar with restaurant industry standard concepts, practices, and procedures Complete safety training orientation and quarterly safety training updates Able to effectively interact with a diverse population of Employees, Management and Guests Able to consistently maintain a courteous and respectful demeanor Maintain knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment Maintain strong knowledge of cooking methods in compliance with health and safety codes
