Job Description

Position Overview Mission Valley Post Acute is looking for a dependable and motivated Dietary Cook to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will prepare nutritious, flavorful meals that meet residents' dietary needs while supporting their overall health and satisfaction. Your work will directly contribute to a positive dining experience and quality of care. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and specific dietary guidelines Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards Adjust meals to meet special dietary needs, including low-sodium, diabetic, and texture-modified diets Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times Assist with monitoring inventory and notifying leadership of supply needs Store and label food properly to ensure freshness and regulatory compliance Work collaboratively with dietary staff and clinical team to meet residents' nutritional needs Support meal service and ensure proper portion control Qualifications Prior cooking experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, or food service preferred Familiarity with therapeutic and modified diets is a plus Food Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire) Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Ability to manage tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset Schedule Full-time position Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed Benefits Competitive pay ranging from $18-$20 per hour Health, dental, and vision insurance (for eligible employees) Paid time off and holiday pay Opportunities for professional growth and advancement Equal Opportunity Employer Mission Valley Post Acute is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
