The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, menu planning, and food safety, ensuring that all meals meet health standards and cater to dietary needs. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the well-being of children while working in a supportive educational setting. Duties Prepare and serve healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks for preschool children in accordance with dietary guidelines. Plan menus that are nutritious, balanced, and appealing to young children, incorporating variety and dietary restrictions as needed. Ensure all food handling and preparation adhere to food safety standards and sanitation protocols. Assist with food presentation to make meals attractive and engaging for children. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and proper storage of ingredients. Monitor inventory levels of kitchen supplies and ingredients, notifying management when stock needs replenishing. Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary needs or allergies of children. Follow all health regulations and safety procedures during meal preparation and service. Experience Prior experience in food preparation or cooking, preferably within a childcare, school, or similar setting. Knowledge of menu planning tailored for young children's nutritional needs. Experience with food safety practices, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures. Background in culinary arts or related training is a plus. Familiarity with dietary restrictions and allergy management is desirable. Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant environment will be considered an asset.
