Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary to join our vibrant team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals tailored to the dietary needs of our residents, ensuring their well-being and satisfaction. Your expertise in food production, safety, and customer service will contribute to creating a warm and welcoming environment for our residents. Responsibilities Prepare, assemble, and serve meals that adhere to specific dietary requirements and nutritional guidelines for residents. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout food handling and preparation processes. Assist with food production tasks, including portioning, plating, and packaging meals in accordance with safety protocols. Follow established procedures for workplace safety, manual handling, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment. Support the dietary department by managing time effectively to meet meal schedules and resident needs promptly. Maintain accurate records related to food handling, sanitation, and meal service in compliance with JCAHO standards. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions for residents. Requirements Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures. Experience with food preparation, meal service, and operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and refrigeration units. Strong understanding of nutrition principles relevant to geriatric patients and dietary requirements. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lift heavy objects safely following proper lifting practices; manual handling experience is essential. Valid certifications such as CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), food handler's permits, or other relevant credentials are advantageous. Exceptional customer service skills with a caring attitude towards residents' comfort and well-being. Knowledge of workplace safety protocols including JCAHO standards for healthcare facilities is desirable.
