Dietary Cook - Full-Time Moraga Post Acute |
Moraga, CA Pay Rate:
$19.00 per Hour Moraga Post Acute is seeking a dependable and experienced Dietary Cook to join our dietary services team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our residents receive nutritious, delicious, and properly prepared meals that support their health and well-being. Position Summary As a Dietary Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals in accordance with physician-prescribed diets, established menus, and food safety standards. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to providing high-quality service in a healthcare environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary requirements Ensure meals are prepared in compliance with physician orders and specialized diets, including diabetic, low-sodium, and texture-modified diets Follow portion control guidelines and food presentation standards Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices in accordance with state and federal regulations Monitor, record, and maintain food temperatures to ensure food safety compliance Assist with tray assembly and meal service as needed Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, food preparation areas, and workstations Work closely with dietary staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely meal service Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and supply management Adhere to infection control, workplace safety, and department policies and procedures Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or food service setting required Knowledge of dietary restrictions, therapeutic diets, and food safety regulations Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Food Handler's Certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire Schedule & Benefits Full-Time Position Weekends and holidays may be required Competitive pay at $19.00 per hour Opportunities for advancement and career development Supportive and collaborative work environment Equal Opportunity Employer Moraga Post Acute is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace for all employees.
