If you enjoy working behind the scenes to keep a busy kitchen running smoothly and take pride in staying organized, we'd love to meet you. This is a high-demand role that requires someone who can work with urgency, maintain quality, and stay organized while preparing ingredients and managing inventory for a busy soul food breakfast restaurant. Key Responsibilities Prepare ingredients for daily breakfast service, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, mixing batters, and preparing sauces and side items Follow recipes and food preparation standards to ensure consistency and quality Maintain accurate inventory of food products, supplies, and prep items Monitor stock levels and notify management when products need to be reordered Rotate inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out) methods to minimize waste Label, date, and properly store all prepared food items Keep prep stations, storage areas, coolers, and freezers clean and organized Assist cooks during busy service periods as needed Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations Work efficiently to ensure the kitchen is fully stocked and prepared for each shift Qualifications Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen Excellent attention to detail and cleanliness Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with the kitchen team Previous food prep or restaurant experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate What We Offer Friendly and supportive team environment Opportunity for growth within the restaurant Hands-on experience in a high-volume soul food breakfast kitchen Employee meal discounts Education and Experience 1 year of food preparation or restaurant experience preferred Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
