Best Western Plus Tree House is seeking a Cook to join our team in beautiful Mount Shasta, California. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This position is essential to our mission of providing high-quality service and delicious meals that enhance the overall stay for visitors at our hotel. Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards. Plan menus that accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences while ensuring quality. Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen at all times. Handle food products safely and efficiently during preparation and cooking processes. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service for guests. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed. Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned after use. Assist in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols. Qualifications Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role within the food service industry. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Ability to plan menus effectively while considering cost control measures. Excellent meal preparation skills with attention to detail in presentation. Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with kitchen staff. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
