Job Description

Job Overview:
We are looking for a quick learning, skilled cook who enjoy working in a fast paced kitchen and is able to multi-task. You should have an understanding about creating pizza doughs from scratch, working with doughs, and working with pizza ovens. You should also have a basic understanding of cooking techniques including cutting produce & proteins, creating soups, vinaigrettes and simple sauces. A positive, cooperative attitude, willingness to learn, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety are important qualities we seek for our kitchen team.
Cook Responsibilities include:
  • Preparing Pizza Dough, Focaccia and other baked items as needed: Mixing and preparing ingredients according to specific recipes for various menu items.
  • Cooking & Baking:
    Operating ovens and other equipment to bake products at the appropriate temperatures and for the required durations.
  • Plating and executing: Placing finished menu items in a timely fashion on serving ware to create a visual delight for the diners.
  • Quality Control:
    Ensuring the quality and consistency of products by monitoring marinating, prep and cooking times, checking for proper texture, taste, and appearance, and adjusting as needed.
  • Inventory Management:
    Maintaining inventory of ingredients, supplies, and finished products, and requesting new supplies when necessary.
  • Sanitation and Safety:
    Adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. Ensuring cooking utensils and kitchen area are cleaned after closing to comply with state regulations
  • Collaboration:
    Working closely with other members of the Kitchen team, including dishwashers and other staff to coordinate production schedules and ensure efficient operations.
  • Adaptability:
    Being open to working in different shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, as operations often require early preparation and timely delivery.

  • Knowledge of food handling and safety protocols
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Familiarity with menu planning and casual dining practices
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs and carry platters and small wares
  • California Food Handling or Serve Safe certified Earning includes salary + portion of pooled tips
