POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for preparing meals and snacks in accordance with the menu, approved recipes, standards, and federal, state, and local regulations. Provide high quality food and dining experience at all times.

Reports to: Dining Services Director

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Successful performance requires satisfactory completion of all essential duties and responsibilities. The essential duties described below are representative of the skills and ability necessary while performing the basic functions of the position. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Adhere to all guidelines and approved menus and recipes when preparing meals, snacks, and all other food items. Ensure meals and snacks meet standards for taste and appetizing presentation. Assist with preparing for special events, including holidays and community marketing events both in and outside of the community. Follow guidelines for preparing special diet meals. Prepare substitutions to meet resident's requests. Assist with serving residents as needed. Follow all sanitation, disposal, food labeling, and food storage guidelines and regulations. Record temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers. Maintain valid Serv Safe food handlers permit. Responsible for cleaning dining services areas as directed and as needed. Be prepared and plan for all meals and snacks to ensure timely service for all meals, activities, and events. Assist Dining Services Director with purchasing food and supplies, taking inventory, accepting deliveries, stocking, and maintaining safety as directed. Communicate any observed concerns, issues, or resident changes to management immediately. Always have a friendly and helpful attitude with residents, families, and guests. Encourage teamwork among all departments and assist with conflict resolution. Maintain confidentiality regarding all protect health information or personal information of residents and employees. Per State of California regulations, as a "mandated reporter" you must report all known or suspected incidents of resident abuse of dependent adults or elders.
