Responsibilities Prepare and serve meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and residents' individual needs, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene. Assist with menu planning by incorporating nutritious, appealing options that cater to various dietary restrictions and preferences. Handle food preparation tasks including chopping, cooking, plating, and portioning to deliver visually appealing dishes. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, adhering to food handling regulations. Support the dietary department by assisting with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with staff to ensure timely meal service and exceptional dining experiences for residents. Follow all food safety protocols and sanitation procedures to uphold health standards within the facility. Experience Previous dietary aide or dietary department experience preferred, with a strong understanding of food handling and safety practices. Experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant service is highly desirable, especially within fine dining or catering environments. Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and culinary techniques such as knife skills is essential. Background in the food industry or kitchen experience that demonstrates proficiency in food service operations. Familiarity with dietary restrictions and special diets common in assisted living settings is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
