Employee Discounts Purpose of the Position Prepare all menu items in accordance with established quality and time standards while maintaining a clean and sanitary work area. This is a non-exempt position that reports directly to the Kitchen Manager and indirectly to others in management. Essential Job Functions Interact with co-workers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and professional manner (i.e., a warm smile and sincere greeting) Consistent attendance and punctuality Positive Attitude Compliance with employee handbook and training manuals Assemble/dismantle workstation in a timely manner Execute all recipes to the letter (i.e., properly measure ingredients) Prepare all items within La Popular's quality and cook time standards Place all items on appropriate plates according to verbal directions or written pivot points Prepare all plates for final presentation Toast buns/bread Cook french fries to order Keep station well stocked and sanitary Maintain a clean grill, free of debris Maintain clean and dry building Set up and Operate grill, oven, broiler, fryer, and all other equipment used Verbally communicate with other line positions regarding the preparation of all items Assist on Salads, Sauté and Assembler positions, if needed Label, date, and rotate all prepped items in accordance with La Popular's shelf life specifications Read checks and respond to the verbal requests from other kitchen staff members Skim and clean fryers Filter and/or change shortening, as needed Assist Prep, Line or Dish machine functions, when needed Qualifications At least 18 years of age Food Handler Safety Training Card Equipment Used French Fry Fryer Tortilla Press Wells Warmer Grill/ Flat-top Grill Assorted Knives and other equipment related to food prep Grill/Pastry Brushes/Tongs/Spatula Assorted Measuring Utensils Wand Mixer Meat Slicer Lang Oven Buffalo Chopper Salad Cutter/Greens Machine/Salad Spinner Convection Oven Trash Compacter Sanitizing Bottle/Towel Physical Demands and Work Environment Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies, and repetitive hand and wrist motion; working with and around hot, cold, and hazardous equipment in a fast paced and congested environment that will occasionally be loud, hot, and/or physically demanding.
