Full Job Description Job Summary:

Consistently prepare high quality food in a timely manner and follow all company recipes and specifications Work the line as well as prepare food

Key Requirements:

Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook Understanding of cooking methods, ingredients and equipment Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks Flexible schedule Task-driven individual

Duties:

Work the line Cooking and preparing all menu items in accordance standards set by the owner (chopping vegetables, butchering/pounding meat, preparing sauces, etc.) Stocking and maintaining sufficient levels of food on the line Food preparation and portioning prior to service Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment Clean up station and take care of leftover food (try to minimize food waste as good as possible) Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers Weigh, measure, season, and mix ingredients according to recipes Observe and test food to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently Set up Line according to kitchen guidelines Wrap, date and refrigerate food Store and properly handle raw or prepared food and non-food supplies Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces and kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures Empty trash containers as required Handle food in a manner that is consistent with local health department guidelines Follow proper food handling techniques and coordinates the use of time, material and equipment to avoid waste and unnecessary expense Maintains a safe, orderly, and clean kitchen and demonstrates such through example, using proper food handling techniques Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene Ensures kitchen and storage areas are kept clean and organized May assist with product ordering & maintaining inventory when necessary Other duties as requested by manager, chefs, etc.

Qualifications:

Previous professional food preparation or cooking experience Serve Safe or other recognized hygiene qualification required Understanding of proper use of major kitchen equipment, including stoves, grills, refrigeration, slicer, knives, and warmers Commitment to quality service and food knowledge Possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members Be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and serving personnel Be willing to follow direction and ask questions for clarification if needed Be able to work positively under pressure in a fast-paced time sensitive restaurant environment Teamwork - Promotes cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverables. Have the physical abilities to carry out the functions of the job descriptions Servers voluntarily share 3% of their sales as tips for the kitchen. So, you can expect additional income through tip sharing.
