Lead Cook authentic street taco - 1.0 Roseville, CA Job Details Part-time | Contract $22 - $25 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications Line cook experience Cooking Driver's License Meal preparation Mexican cuisine Cleaning Delegation Order fulfillment Full Job Description We are seeking a skilled, high-energy Lead Cook to spearhead culinary operations for our Authentic Street Taco brand. You will manage food preparation and service across three distinct environments: our high-volume food truck, off-site catering events, and our central commissary kitchen. As the kitchen leader, you will direct a small team to ensure rapid, high-quality order fulfillment. Key ResponsibilitiesCulinary & Operations Prepare authentic street taco meats, salsas, and traditional toppings. Cook food to precise standards in the central kitchen and on the truck. Drive, set up, and break down the food truck at service locations. Manage off-site catering setups, live cooking stations, and buffet lines. Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and temperature logs. Team Leadership Lead line cooks and prep staff during high-volume service rushes. Expedite orders efficiently to maintain low ticket times. Train team members on knife skills, recipes, and safety protocols. Delegate prep lists and cleaning tasks daily. Inventory & Stocking Monitor inventory levels at the central kitchen. Load the food truck accurately with all event-specific supplies. Minimize food waste through precise portion control. Job RequirementsExperience & Skills Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a line cook or lead cook. Deep knowledge of authentic Mexican ingredients and cooking techniques. Proven ability to work in fast-paced, tight spaces (food trucks). Strong verbal communication skills to direct a team under pressure. Physical & Logistics Valid driver's license with a clean driving record to operate the food truck. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays for catering events. Current Food Handler's Manager Certification (or equivalent).
