Job Description
Experienced Cook - Jamaican & Caribbean Cuisine Overview We are seeking an experienced cook with a strong background in authentic Jamaican and Caribbean cuisine to join our growing food preparation team. This role focuses on preparing high-quality traditional Caribbean dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining consistency, cleanliness, and food safety standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable in traditional Jamaican cooking techniques, seasoning, and large-volume food preparation. Responsibilities Prepare and cook authentic Jamaican and Caribbean dishes including jerk chicken, curry goat, oxtail, ackee and saltfish, rice and peas, patties, and other traditional menu items. Assist with food preparation, marinating, seasoning, portioning, and batch cooking. Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation standards. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness procedures. Properly store, label, and rotate food products according to health and safety guidelines. Support catering preparation and high-volume food production as needed. Maintain organized prep stations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas. Work efficiently with team members in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Requirements Previous experience preparing Jamaican or Caribbean cuisine required. Strong understanding of traditional Jamaican seasonings, cooking methods, and food preparation techniques. Ability to work independently and efficiently in a commercial kitchen environment. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. Strong time management and organizational skills. Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
