The Testarossa Winery culinary team caters our onsite corporate and social events with Seasonal Farm-to-Table California Cuisine with world influences at a fine dining level, utilizing the highest quality ingredients available to us, to pair with our high-quality wines (over 1,900 90+ point scores). As a part-time Kitchen Cook, you'll execute seasonal menu items designed around world class Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays for corporate, social and club events at the winery. Working at our offsite kitchen in San Jose, the day to day may include: Prepping and cooking menu items according to instruction and support from the executive and sous chefs Labeling, stocking, and organizing ingredients to sanitation and food safety guidelines Managing ingredients and inventory; communicating and reporting to the executive and sous chefs Providing support in the following areas: events line execution, wine bar food prep, pastry/baking prep, and porter
Requirements:
As a Kitchen Cook, you will bring : 1+ year of kitchen experience or equivalent culinary education ServSafe and/or California Food Handlers Certification Ability to adjust and modify recipe quantity Safe knife skills and kitchen sanitation knowledge Ability to work effectively in a team, be proactive, have a sense of urgency, a positive attitude and effective communication Work Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to work a flexible daytime schedule (Tuesday - Thursday availability required) Walk, stand, bend, kneel, and reach frequently for the duration of the shift Lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently Handles sharp and hot tools regularly Frequently utilizes cleaning chemicals Drive to/from the offsite kitchen in San Jose to the Winery in Los Gatos, as needed
