ABOUT US
Felix's BBQ with Soul is a full-service restaurant open for Lunch and Dinner 7 days a week. We take pride in serving high-quality BBQ food with heart, and we're looking for talented cooks to help us do that — every shift, every plate.
JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for clean, organized, dependable, and self-motivated Line Cooks to join our kitchen team. In this role, you will contribute to customer satisfaction by preparing and serving high-quality food in accordance with Felix's BBQ with Soul standards in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
JOB DUTIES
  • Set up station for meal service, ensuring all food is prepared correctly and held at proper temperature
  • Maintain a clean, stocked station throughout each shift
  • Prepare and properly garnish all food orders in accordance with menu specifications, ensuring proper plate presentation
  • Prepare sauces, soups, and hot entrées
  • Control the positioning and rotation of foods (FIFO)
  • Set up for next meal period by ensuring proper amounts are in place per prep sheets
  • Maintain cleanliness and stocking of coolers and storage areas
  • Requisition food with necessary approvals according to company policy
  • Take proper care of ranges, ovens, broilers, fryers, griddles, utensils, and other kitchen equipment
  • Read and fill catering orders according to current guidelines
  • Minimize safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year of cooking experience in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant (preferred)
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Functional English required
License/Certification:
  • Food Handlers Certificate (required)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires frequent standing, walking, and use of hands. Employees must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. The kitchen environment includes hot and cold conditions, moving mechanical parts, sharp tools, and hot cooking surfaces. Noise levels are typically moderate to loud.
HOURS & SHIFTS
  • 25-40 hours per week
  • AM and PM shifts available
  • Full-time and part-time positions open
  • Overtime available when necessary
