Job Overview The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes and menu standards. Working as part of the kitchen team, the cook ensures that all food is prepared in a timely manner while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and food quality. Responsibilities:
Food Preparation and Cooking Prepare ingredients and cook food according to recipes, portion sizes, plating standards, and menu specifications. Cook and plate dishes for service in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring ticket times are kept to appropriate levels. Work at multiple stations, including grill, sauté, fry, and/or prep, depending on the needs of the kitchen. Kitchen Operations Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies and ingredients at the start of each shift. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area throughout the shift, including proper storage of food and ingredients. Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper labeling and rotation of stock. Health, Safety, & Sanitation Complete daily cleaning tasks and deep cleaning as assigned. Includes wiping and sanitizing all surfaces, sweeping and mopping floors, etc. Follow all health and safety guidelines related to food handling and sanitation, ensuring cross-contamination is avoided at all times. Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, adhering to safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines. Report any equipment malfunctions, hazards, or potential safety issues to Management in a timely manner. Team Collaboration Help with dishwashing, event prep, and other kitchen tasks as directed by Supervisor. Maintain effective communication with other team members to ensure that the kitchen operates efficiently. Qualifications & Requirements Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire. Physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds for extended periods. Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment. Knife skills
