The Opportunity Ever Well Health Systems is hiring a Nutrition Services Cook to join our residential care team serving adults experiencing significant mental health challenges. This role is responsible for preparing quality meals in accordance with CCR Title 22 and other regulatory health and safety standards while contributing to a structured, safe, and therapeutic environment. Employment requires successful DOJ and FBI criminal records clearance, including Fingerprint Live Scan, as mandated under Title 22 licensing regulations. Schedule Options Sunday-Thursday Tuesday-Saturday Friday-Monday 7:00AM-3:30PM or 10:30AM-7:00PM Weekends and Holidays as Scheduled What You Will Do Perform food service activities that meet CCR Title 22 and other regulatory health and safety standards Prepare quality food in a timely and creative manner, ensuring resident satisfaction and proper presentation Follow recipes at varying levels of difficulty so menu items are ready at the correct temperature and time Cook meats and vegetables, prepare baked goods, cut and trim meat, and prepare regular and special diet meals for residents and staff Create menus and cook daily meals Examine foods for quality and freshness; monitor temperatures and steam pressures; turn and baste meats for proper cooking Maintain food storage, preparation, and cooking areas in a clean, neat, and orderly manner Operate and clean kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, slicers, freezers, refrigerators, walk-in coolers, dishwashers, and related tools Provide transportation in company vehicle for agency business (residents, supplies, food, etc.) as required Follow established standards of cleanliness, health, and safety; report and remove hazards Maintain professional appearance, hygiene, and uniform standards Support teamwork and positive interaction with residents and staff Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Experience & Education High school diploma or GED required Minimum one year of related cooking experience required; two years preferred Two years of experience cooking in a high-volume food service establishment preferred Experience in a Community Care Licensed facility preferred Certificates & Licenses Valid California driver's license, current automobile insurance, and good driving record Food Handler Certification required Must obtain and maintain FBI and DOJ criminal records clearance per Title 22 regulations, including Live Scan fingerprinting Employment physical and TB clearance required What We Offer Eligible full-time employees receive comprehensive benefits, including: Pay Range $20.00-$21.50 per hour Benefits 401(k) with company matching Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance Generous paid leave (vacation, sick time, and holidays) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Professional Development Assistance Tuition Reimbursement Opportunities for advancement How to Apply Submit your most current resume through the application link provided. GENERAL EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Education — High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; additional education in food service preferred. Experience — Minimum of one-year related experience; two years preferred. Experience in a residential facility but not required. Language Ability — Ability to read, write and understand documents such as safety rules, operating manuals and maintenance instructions.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or
Experience:
A minimum of a high-school diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years proven experience cooking in a high-volume food service establishment. Appropriate volunteer and internship experience will be considered. Appropriate volunteer and internship experience will be considered.
License:
A valid California driver's license, current automobile insurance, and a good driving record asdocumented by a DMV report.
Special Requirements:
Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance as required by Title XXII, licensing regulations. This includes FBI and DOJ clearance. A health screening, by or under the direction of a physician must have been performed not more than one year prior to employment or within seven (7) days after employment. Health screening must include TB clearance not more than one year prior to employment or within seven (7) days after employment. Must have a current standard first aid card from an accredited institution. Must be physically able to assist residents and/or staff in the evacuation of program facility in emergency situations. Must be able to administer first aid in an emergency situation.

Physical Requirements of Position:
The following are required in day-to-day performance of the duties of this position: Use of all kitchen equipment including electric slicer, mixer, tilt skillet, deep-fat fryer, ovens, sharp cutting tools and cleaning chemicals; standing, walking, pushing, and pulling of weight; repetitive use of hands to include grasping, both firm and light, kneading, keying, and exposure to chemicals and water; lifting and carrying of 0-10 lbs. floor to chest and overhead; frequent lifting and carrying of 11-30 lbs. floor to chest; occasional lifting and carrying of over 30 lbs. floor to chest; and frequent stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing (ladder). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Actual Experience Working in a
Community Care Licensed Facility:
Although not required for this position, demonstrated previous work experience at a facility licensed by the Department of Social Service California Community Care Licensing Program (CCL) is preferred.
