Job Description

PrideStaff is seeking motivated professionals with experience working in high-paced cooking environments. Job Summary Cooks and prepares a variety of food products, including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, and stocks. Follows standard recipes and daily prep lists using various kitchen equipment and utensils under the direction of culinary leadership.
Key Responsibilities Station Setup :
Takes inventory and sets up, maintains, and breaks down the prep station.
Food Preparation :
Prepares menu items according to standard recipes and daily prep lists.
Order Coordination :
Times and coordinates orders smoothly with other kitchen operations.
Inventory Management :
Requisitions needed items and notifies the Sous Chef of expected shortages.
Sanitation :
Keeps assigned work areas, tools, and equipment clean and sanitary.
Food Storage :
Covers, dates, and neatly stores all reusable leftover products.
Kitchen Closing :
Closes the kitchen properly using the standard closing checklist.
Team Collaboration :
Attends staff meetings, offers improvement suggestions, and assists with extra duties.
Maintenance :
Recommends repairs, maintenance, and upkeep for the line prep area and equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements Education :
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Experience :
Minimum one year of kitchen preparation and cooking experience.
Alternative Experience :
Sufficient culinary school education or a 2-year culinary degree replaces the experience requirement.
Certification :
A valid food safety certification or permit is required.
Core Competencies Compliance :
Follows all state and local health, food safety, and machinery regulations.
Safety :
Knows and performs designated roles correctly during emergency situations.
Physical Demands & Environment Movement :
Stands for long periods, walks, climbs stairs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, bends, stretches, and twists.
Lifting :
Pushes, pulls, or lifts up to 50 pounds regularly.
Repetition :
Performs continuous repetitive tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Compensation / Pay
Rate (Up to): $20.00 - $22.00
