Full-Time / Part-Time Position Summary Mama Rosas Trattoria is seeking a reliable and motivated Prep/Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist with food preparation, maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization, and execute menu items efficiently while ensuring high-quality food standards. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while contributing to a positive team atmosphere. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare ingredients for service, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and preparing sauces and dressings. Set up and stock workstations with all necessary supplies. Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards. Ensure food quality, consistency, and proper portion control. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations and storage areas. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations. Properly label, store, and rotate food products using FIFO practices. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth service. Support dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning duties as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager. Qualifications Previous experience as a prep cook, line cook, or in a commercial kitchen preferred. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment. Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards. Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented. Food Handler Certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
