Duties Prepare and cook a variety of nutritious meals following established recipes and dietary plans tailored to residents' needs. Plan menus that balance nutritional requirements with appealing presentation, incorporating diverse cuisines and special dietary considerations. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, braising pots, poaching devices, and food production machinery. Ensure all food handling and preparation adhere to strict food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. Manage high-volume food production during meal times while maintaining quality standards and timely service. Assist with food service operations, including plating, portioning, and serving meals in accordance with dietary guidelines. Maintain accurate records of food inventory, storage conditions, and sanitation practices to support compliance with health regulations. Requirements Proven experience in dietary aide roles or food service positions within assisted living or healthcare settings. Strong menu planning skills with knowledge of culinary techniques such as braising, grilling, frying, and poaching. Experience in fine dining or restaurant environments demonstrating high-quality food presentation and preparation. Proficiency in operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Knowledge of food safety management practices including sanitizing procedures, proper food handling, and allergen awareness. Ability to follow detailed recipes precisely while maintaining flexibility for special dietary requests. Excellent knife skills and experience in food production for high-volume settings are highly desirable.
