Job Description

Job Overview We are looking for a reliable, fast-paced Prep Cook to join our culinary team. You will support our head chef and line cooks by organizing ingredients, executing prep lists, and maintaining a spotless, efficient workspace. Your meticulous preparation directly impacts the quality of our dishes and the speed of our service.
Responsibilities & Duties Ingredient Preparation:
Wash, peel, chop, slice, and dice vegetables, fruits, and meats according to recipes and chef specifications.
Recipe Execution:
Measure and mix ingredients, portion out food items, and undertake basic cooking tasks like reducing sauces or parboiling food.
Station Setup:
Set up and stock your workstation with all necessary tools, utensils, and ingredients before service begins.
Food Safety & Sanitation:
Ensure compliance with all food safety, health code, and sanitation guidelines. Safely handle knives, operate kitchen equipment, and properly label and store ingredients.
Kitchen Maintenance:
Clean and sanitize cutting boards, equipment, and work areas throughout your shift. Assist with dishwashing and end-of-shift cleanup.
Inventory & Stocking:
Unpack incoming deliveries and rotate stock. Monitor ingredient inventory and notify the kitchen manager of shortages. Qualifications & Skills Previous experience as a prep cook or in a high-volume kitchen setting. Strong manual dexterity and basic knife-handling skills. Knowledge of standard kitchen safety, health regulations, and safe food storage. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately. Strong time management and multitasking skills to work efficiently under pressure. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Must be physically capable of standing and moving for extended periods (8+ hours). Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift/move heavy objects and inventory (up to 50 lbs). Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment that can be loud and warm.
