This position can be stressful and it can be hot… But you will hone your skills on the grill. This position is in a permanent Food trailer. We are a streamlined, scratch kitchen that does amazing smash burgers, various fried foods and some wraps. Pretty basic , but high volume! We do a lot of private parties as well. Check out the Rock Garden in Lyons …it's a great place! Responsibilities Assist with menu planning to ensure balanced, appealing meal options that meet dietary needs Prepare, cook, and serve meals following established recipes and food safety guidelines Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, portioning, and presentation Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food and coordinating service Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment in compliance with health standards Engage with customers or residents through friendly service, ensuring a positive dining experience Follow all food handling procedures diligently to uphold safety regulations and prevent contamination Experience Prior experience working in dietary departments, restaurants, or food service environments is highly desirable Hands-on culinary experience including meal preparation, cooking, and food presentation Knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling techniques Experience with menu planning and food industry standards preferred Skills in knife handling, food prep, and kitchen operations are essential Background in catering or large-scale meal service is a plus Strong understanding of serving protocols within a hospitality or healthcare setting Join us to bring your culinary passion to life!
