Oakshire Commons is in search of an experienced cook, who puts care and passion into the meals they prepare and create. The cook will be responsible in creating menu items pre-approved by a registered dietitian. Menu items commonly consist of the main entre as well as a single alternate meal for those who do not want the main entre.
What to expect:
The kitchen is your oyster! Our cooks pride themselves on their ability to "dish out" delicious and nutritious meals that satisfy our resident's bellies. We are looking for individuals who take initiative, are self-motivated, and who are not afraid to express their talents with presentation and flavor. We rely on you to spice-up our resident's daily life! What you bring to the table: 1 year of Assisted Living Experience (Ideally) 2 years' experience in a Commercial Kitchen To be responsible for three dietitian approved meal a day along with two snacks. Have the ability to review weekly menus and determine what must be in the weekly food order, and order these items Have the ability to properly manage inventory and utilize the resources that are present Have an understanding and experience in proper portioning Manage and guide personal care providers (PCPs) when providing dining services Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment and dining environment Be knowledgeable and experienced in proper food handling as well as storage Be open to critiques. Even more so, be open to socializing with our residents on a daily basis with the intention of seeking their feedback on meals. Be a team player Care about what you do! Understand food safety Food Safety Manager Qualification (or have the ability to pass the course)
