In this energetic and vital role, you will prepare delicious, nourishing meals for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts, ensuring every dish meets high standards of food safety and quality. Your creativity in menu planning and expertise in food preparation will contribute to a seamless, enjoyable camp environment. This paid position offers the opportunity to combine culinary artistry with outdoor adventure, providing a rewarding experience in a dynamic setting. Responsibilities Plan and develop diverse menus tailored to the dietary needs and preferences of camp guests, incorporating both hearty and fine dining options. Prepare and cook meals using various techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and food production methods to deliver flavorful dishes. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, mixers, and food prep tools. Maintain strict food safety standards by adhering to sanitizing procedures, proper food handling practices, and food safety management protocols. Assist with food procurement, inventory management, and ensuring all ingredients meet quality standards for high-volume production. Collaborate with camp staff to coordinate meal schedules and accommodate special dietary requests or restrictions. Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen area through regular sanitizing procedures and proper waste disposal. Qualifications Proven experience in food service or culinary roles, preferably with dietary aide or dietary department background. Strong skills in menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation for large groups or high-volume settings. Demonstrated expertise in various cooking techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and food production. Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitizing procedures essential for maintaining a hygienic kitchen environment. Prior restaurant or catering experience is highly desirable; fine dining experience is a plus. Excellent knife skills and familiarity with food handling standards to ensure quality and safety in all dishes.
