This energetic position is perfect for individuals passionate about food preparation, kitchen operations, and providing excellent food service. As a Prep Cook, you will be instrumental in supporting our culinary staff by preparing ingredients, assisting with meal assembly, and ensuring all food safety standards are met. Duties Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning fresh produce and other food items to ensure readiness for cooking and plating Assist in the assembly of menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards Support cooking activities by following directions from chefs or kitchen managers, ensuring timely meal preparation Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including sanitizing surfaces and proper food handling procedures Handle food safely by adhering to all health regulations, including proper storage, temperature control, and hygiene practices Assist with catering orders and special event preparations to meet client specifications and deadlines Support inventory management by rotating stock, monitoring supplies, and notifying supervisors of shortages or expired items Skills Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, including knife skills and meal assembly Experience working in restaurant kitchens or the food industry demonstrating familiarity with kitchen equipment and food safety protocols Ability to follow detailed recipes and menu planning instructions accurately Excellent food handling skills with a focus on cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards Knowledge of catering services, serving procedures, and food industry best practices Good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy kitchen environment Bring your passion for culinary arts and your dedication to quality food service!
