JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE
Line Cook Prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.
Essential Functions:
Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies and prepares food of consistent quality following recipe cards, production and portion standards per orders from servers. Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to prepare over estimated needs. Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces. Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes/standards. Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage. Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift. Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs. Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line set up. Note any out of stock items or possible shortages. Assist in keeping buffet stocked. Return all food items not used on next shift to designated storage areas, being sure to cover and date all perishables. Date all food containers and rotate as per the SOP, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures. Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems, control food waste, loss, and usage per SOP. Performs any other duties required or requested by Supervisor.
Non-Essential Functions:
Assist in prep work of vegetables and condiments as required for the next shift. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
