Prep Cook

Job Summary Our prep cooks are responsible for assisting with and accomplishing any and all tasks delegated to them by management and shift leads. A successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and business goals. Responsibilities Follow recipes and specs - ensure the quality and consistency of every batch recipe that goes from our prep kitchen to the proper workstation on the line. Ensure that all slicers, scales, refrigeration and cooking equipment are operating correctly and at the proper temperature. Follow safe food handling practices. Maintain any daily and weekly sanitation and maintenance schedules. Maintain a safe, clean and organized workstation and walk way in the prep areas. Use our product labeling system to label, date, rotate and store all food products. Skills Proven cooking experience, including experience as a restaurant cook or prep cook Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks Familiar with industry's best practices Workplace Requirements Ability to understand and follow directions, standards for health, safety, and excellence. Ability to remain alert and focused in an environment that is noisy and fast-paced. Must be 18 years of age at the time of hire and eligible to work in the United States. Availability to work morning, weekend and evening shifts. Must have reliable transportation to travel to and from the restaurant. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods standing. Ability to lift, carry, and place items that can be between 30-60 pounds. Must be able to bend, stoop, and wipe frequently.
