Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and experienced Cook to join our team in an assisted living and memory care community. This vital role involves preparing nutritious, appealing meals tailored to the dietary needs of our residents, ensuring a high standard of food safety and quality. As a Cook, you will bring your culinary expertise and caring attitude to create a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel valued and well-nourished. Your dedication to food preparation, menu planning, and exceptional service will help enhance the quality of life for our residents every day. Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals that meet dietary guidelines and individual resident preferences, including special diets for memory care needs Plan menus in collaboration with dietitians and dining staff, incorporating nutritious ingredients and appealing presentation Ensure all food handling and preparation adhere to strict food safety standards and sanitation protocols Assist with food service operations, including plating, serving, and cleaning up after meals Maintain accurate inventory of kitchen supplies and ingredients, minimizing waste through efficient stock management Support catering functions for special events or community gatherings with high-quality culinary offerings Follow all kitchen safety procedures, including knife skills, proper food storage, and equipment use Experience Proven experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide within assisted living or memory care settings Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and meal service in a restaurant or food industry environment Familiarity with menu planning, fine dining standards, and catering operations Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques Demonstrated culinary skills including knife proficiency and creative meal presentation Experience with dietary accommodations for seniors or individuals with memory impairments is highly desirable Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and residents Join us as a Cook dedicated to making a positive impact through delicious, nutritious meals.
