coming over the next few years , not just employees. We do not offer minimum wage employment. We offer an hourly minimum PLUS tip sharing which is further enhanced by the number of hours worked. We are a higher volume store with pay averaging 15+ per hour.
General Purpose:
Accurately and efficiently prep, cook, and portion all food products offered in the restaurant. The cook is responsible for understanding and practicing all necessary health and food safety procedures. They are also responsible for cleaning all aspects of the restaurant's kitchen and monitor function of all kitchen equipment. They are also expected and required to follow necessary opening and closing procedures when scheduled to do so, in order to ensure success as an active team member of the Hungry Greek kitchen staff.

- Capable of using all kitchen equipment
- Must be physically able to lift heavy loads; as well as stand for extended periods of time - Must be 18 years or older to be considered for hire with reliable transportation.
Main responsibilities:
- Prepare menu items using multiple grills, fryer, stove-top, etc. and assume responsibility for the quality of products prepared and served.
- Know and comply consistently with our recipes, standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies and procedures.
- Prepare a variety of food items using standard restaurant equipment including but not limited to slicers, mixers, knives, processors, etc.
- Maintain cleanliness of the food prep line and kitchen to meet or exceed Health Dept. and company standards on cleanliness, handling, and sanitation; as well as properly following FIFO to ensure proper rotation of food products.
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure a smooth service period, whilst monitoring inventory and potentially informing supervisor of low stock levels.
- Follow proper plate presentation for all dishes served, and potentially assisting in receiving and/or completing orders.
- Wash and store all utensils, containers, pans, etc. following board of health standards for kitchen procedure; as well as maintain proper chemical levels as set by the Dept. of Health and Sanitation.
- Assist in routine cleaning and maintenance throughout restaurant (i.e. walls, floors, sinks, etc.)
- Bag and haul trash to proper dumpster for disposal.
- Participate in maintaining a positive and supportive work environment via effective and professional communication with coworkers.
- Encompass and exhibit proper standards for uniform and personal hygiene.
- Practices respectful confidentiality regarding restaurant procedures, proprietary information, etc.
Uniform Standards:
- Properly assigned uniform shirt
- Professional pants including: jeans without rips/holes, khakis, etc. (Absolutely NO spandex, leggings, exercise clothes, etc.)
- Properly addressed head-wear
- Well maintained personal hygiene including groomed and tamed hair, clean hands and nails, etc.
- NO visible piercings or jewelry permitted outside of non-dangling earrings and solid genuine metal, and stone-free rings.
- Non-slip, preferably black, closed toed shoes
