Sunny Isles Beach, FL Job Details Full-time 16 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Food Handler Certification Full Job Description The role of a line cook is to prepare culinary delights for our guests and owners. The satisfaction in our Restaurant revolves around the food appearance, high quality of the food and overall dining experience. The line cook is responsible for the daily preparation of food items in the pantry, fry stations or other areas of the kitchen. General Responsibilities Sets up, stocks, and restocks kitchen stations according to restaurant guidelines throughout the shift. Prepares and cooks food items, including appetizers, desserts, snacks, and main dishes, in a sanitary and timely manner. Follows recipes, portion controls, plating, and presentation specifications established by the restaurant and senior chefs. Works with servers and kitchen staff to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time. Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains kitchen stations, utensils, equipment, walk-in coolers, and storage areas while following safety, hygiene, and food safety standards. Properly uses, maintains, and stores kitchen equipment and cooking utensils. Performs additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager.
Experience/ Knowledge:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree preferred Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills. Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures. 1-3 years of experience cooking in a restaurant, hotel, or resort.
Skills/Aptitudes:
Professional communication skills are required. Ability to take direction. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure. Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail. Ability to read and follow cooking directions. Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment. Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and organized. Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge.
License/Qualifications:
Food Handlers permit required. Must be able to work nights, weekends, some overnight shifts and holidays. Must be able to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions. Must be organized and self-motivated. Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, and lift, and carry heavy materials
