As a prep cook at our Black Bean Deli Commissary Kitchen, you will play a crucial role by assisting with food preparation tasks and ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting in food preparation, including cutting, chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and portion sizes. Adhering to food safety and sanitation practices, maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas and handling food items properly. Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as knives, slicers, mixers, and food processors. Monitoring inventory levels and notify management of low stock items, participating in inventory counts and restocking activities. Collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow, timely completion of tasks, and adherence to production schedules. Following company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including health and safety standards, food handling guidelines, and cleanliness protocols.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a food preparation or kitchen environment preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and portioning guidelines accurately. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
