Line Cook Golden Nights Johns Creek, GA Job Details Full-time $15 an hour 23 hours ago Qualifications Grilling Pre-cooking preparation ServSafe Basic knife skills Kitchen stations Food Handler Certification Full Job Description Position Summary Golden Nights is seeking reliable, skilled, and motivated Line Cooks to join our back-of-house team. Line Cooks are responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to recipes and standards, maintaining a clean and organized station, and supporting the Executive Chef in delivering consistent, high-quality food during service. The ideal candidate has experience working a line in a fast-paced kitchen and takes pride in food quality, speed, and cleanliness. As a startup, line cooks will help establish kitchen routines, recipes, and execution standards from day one. Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Cooking Prepare and cook menu items according to Golden Nights recipes, portions, and quality standards Set up and stock station with all necessary supplies before service Execute orders accurately and efficiently during high-volume service Ensure proper food temperatures, cooking times, and plating standards Assist with daily prep including chopping, marinating, portioning, and sauce preparation Station Management & Cleanliness Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times Follow proper food storage, labeling, dating, and rotation procedures (FIFO) Clean and sanitize equipment, work surfaces, and cooking tools throughout and after service Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Chef immediately Compliance & Safety Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations Practice proper handwashing, glove use, and cross-contamination prevention Maintain awareness of allergens and communicate allergen information accurately Support health department inspection readiness at all times Qualifications Minimum 1 year of line cook or kitchen experience in a restaurant or food service environment Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment ServSafe Food Handler certification required (or willingness to obtain within 30 days) Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and consistency Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to take direction Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events Preferred Experience Experience in an upscale restaurant, lounge, or bar kitchen Knowledge of international cuisines, small plates, and shareable formats Grill, sauté, and fry station experience Experience in a startup or new restaurant opening Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods (6-10 hours) Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment Frequent bending, reaching, and mobility Performance Expectations Execute menu items consistently and accurately during every service Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready station Meet speed and timing standards during high-volume service Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures without exception Support the Executive Chef and kitchen team as a reliable, accountable team member Join us if you're passionate about food service, eager to develop your culinary skills, and ready to contribute to a lively kitchen environment where every team member plays a vital role!
