Job Description

This is Phase 1—we're building the foundation before scaling. Gus & Grace Meals is a chef-driven, systems-focused meal prep company preparing for launch in McDonough, GA. We specialize in high-quality proteins, clean execution, and consistent production. We are looking for reliable, disciplined cooks who take pride in execution, cleanliness, and showing up. The Role (Phase 1 Focus)You will: Execute batch cooking and meal prep according to written recipes and SOPs Portion, assemble, and package meals accurately and consistently Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and organization standards Assist with prep (proteins, grains, vegetables, sauces) Follow systems exactly as designed (no freelancing in Phase 1) Work primarily on production days (Sundays) with potential weekday prep shifts What This Role Is (and Is Not)✅ A chance to be part of a startup from the ground up✅ Structured, system-driven kitchen environment✅ Clear expectations and standards❌ Not a head chef role❌ Not menu control or creative authority (yet)❌ Not an inconsistent schedule role.
Ideal Candidate should have:
2+ years professional kitchen experience (line cook, prep, or production) Comfortable with repetition, volume, and consistency Strong knife skills and station discipline Understands FIFO, portion control, and sanitation Reliable transportation and punctuality are non-negotiable Comfortable working under hands-on leadership in a startup environment Schedule Expectations" Sundays required (primary production day) Additional weekday shifts may be added as volume grows Hours will scale with business demand Compensation Hourly pay based on experience Opportunity for increased hours and responsibility as the company grows Performance and reliability will directly impact growth opportunities
