Foods Cook Job Summary:
Foods Cooks are responsible for the preparation and presentation of high-quality food items to ensure an exceptional dining experience for our guests. This position requires keen attention to detail, strong culinary skills, and a commitment to upholding food safety standards.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of menu items in accordance with established recipes and standards. Ensure that all dishes are cooked to perfection and presented attractively to meet our guests' expectations. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items and regular cleaning of cooking equipment. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors of any shortages or discrepancies. Adhere to food safety standards and regulations to prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure the safety of our guests and team members. Collaborate with kitchen staff to develop new menu items and recipes, keeping our offerings fresh and exciting. Provide excellent customer service by accommodating special dietary requests and preferences and addressing guest concerns or complaints in a professional manner.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED certificate is preferred. ServSafe Certification is advantageous. Minimum of 2 years of food service experience in a similar role.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Tolerance for high temperatures in the kitchen environment. Varying work hours extending up to twelve (12) hour workdays under some circumstances.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong culinary skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Basic understanding of food safety principles and sanitation procedures. Effective communication skills to interact with kitchen staff and guests. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Safety:
Promote and practice safe work practices at all times. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed. Adhere to company, state and federal safety standards and regulations. Adhere to State of Georgia Health Code requirements at all times.
