Job Overview Join our vibrant childcare team as a Daycare Cook, where your culinary skills will play a vital role in nurturing young minds! In this energetic position, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, balanced meals and snacks tailored to the dietary needs of children in our care. Duties Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks that meet dietary guidelines for young children Plan weekly menus that incorporate variety, balance, and appealing flavors suitable for different age groups Follow strict food safety protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of all ingredients and equipment Assist with food prep tasks such as chopping, mixing, portioning, and cooking using appropriate knife skills and culinary techniques Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and appliances to uphold health standards Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary restrictions or allergies among children Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies as needed to ensure uninterrupted meal service Requirements Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable Proven culinary experience with a focus on food preparation and cooking in settings such as restaurants or catering services Knowledge of food handling safety practices and proper sanitation procedures Strong menu planning skills with an understanding of nutritional requirements for children Excellent food service skills including serving meals efficiently and courteously Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with kitchen equipment, knife skills, and food industry standards for quality and safety This role is perfect for someone passionate about creating nourishing meals that support children's growth and development.
