Job Description

Position Summary The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to hotel recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines. This position plays a key role in delivering a consistent, high-quality dining experience for hotel guests while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. •Must be available on weekends and able to pass a drug screen•Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards Set up and stock assigned station with all necessary supplies Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands Maintain proper food handling, storage, and rotation procedures (FIFO) Monitor food quality and report any concerns to the Kitchen Manager or Chef Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area at all times Follow all health department, food safety, and sanitation standards Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries Support banquet and catering food preparation as needed Participate in daily prep work and closing duties Qualifications Previous line cook or kitchen experience preferred (1+ year recommended) Knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and safety procedures Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and consistency Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 40 lbs Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Food handler certification (as required by state/local regulations) Key Competencies Time management and efficiency Team collaboration Reliability and punctuality Ability to follow direction and standardized recipes Commitment to cleanliness and food safety Work Environment Fast-paced commercial kitchen setting Exposure to heat, sharp tools, and kitchen equipment Standing for long periods of time
