Daycare Cook / Kitchen Coordinator Work Location Project Youth Daycare 2707 Discovery Drive Rock Valley, IA 51247 Pay $14.50-$18.00 per hour , based on experience and qualifications. Job Type Full-Time Monday-Friday Day Shift No nights, weekends, or major holidays Benefits Up to $500 Sign-On Bonus Paid Holidays Paid Time Off (PTO) 50% Childcare Discount Free meals while working Colonial Life Insurance options Annual performance-based raises Supportive, family-oriented work environment About Us Project Youth Daycare is a growing childcare center dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for children. We are looking for a dependable and organized Cook who enjoys preparing nutritious meals and working with children. If you love cooking and want a consistent Monday-Friday schedule with evenings and weekends off, we'd love to meet you! Responsibilities Prepare and serve nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and snacks that meet CACFP guidelines. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and food storage procedures. Prepare meals for children with allergies or special dietary needs. Wash dishes and sanitize kitchen equipment. Sweep, mop, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen. Keep inventory organized and notify management when supplies need to be ordered. Maintain food production and temperature records. Work closely with classroom staff to ensure meals are served on schedule. Assist with other kitchen duties as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous cooking, food service, school, daycare, or restaurant experience preferred. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to follow recipes and prepare meals consistently. Friendly, dependable, and able to work independently. CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain after hire). Must successfully pass a criminal background check. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Frequently bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
