reviews Part-time The United Presbyterian Home seeks an experienced Part-Time Cook to join our team! In this healthcare setting, a Cook prepares food for residents in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations with established policies and procedures and ensures quality food service is provided at all times. This position is responsible for both batch prepared meals as well as short-order cooking. This position's hours are from 10:30a-7p and requires weekend and holiday hours. In the Cook position, your responsibilities will include: Preparin high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions. Serving meals or preparing for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty. Tastes all prepared food items. Using established ticket collection procedures during service. Responsible for records from area worked during service periods. Cleaning kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Storing or discarding excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures. Keeping refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat. Ensures food and supply items are stored per standards. Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment as instructed. Reporting needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately. Attending in-service and safety meetings. Maintaining good working relationships with residents, co-workers, other department team members, administrators and managers. Performing job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Performing other duties as assigned.
