Cook - Senior Living Community We're looking for a passionate, dependable Cook to join our dedicated care team. Your work directly supports their comfort, nutrition, and quality of life each day. Key Responsibilities Prepare meals, snacks, and beverages following established recipes and portioning guidelines Support cost efficiency through proper inventory use and waste reduction Handle all food safely — from receiving and storage through cooking, serving, and cooling — in accordance with health regulations Maintain proper temperature logs and leftover storage procedures Keep kitchen spaces, equipment, and tools clean and sanitary Secure hazardous items at the close of each shift Support delivery receiving and supply stocking Contribute to inventory tracking, ordering, and menu planning What You'll Bring Food Handler's certification (or ability to obtain one) Food Safety Manager certification may be required depending on the position Experience cooking for groups, ideally in a healthcare, senior care, or assisted living environment Working knowledge of kitchen math, terminology, and measurement Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices Confidence handling sharp kitchen tools and equipment Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and maintain required documentation Patience and empathy when engaging with residents with varying care needs, including memory loss A positive, team-first attitude and strong interpersonal skills Commitment to keeping an organized, professional kitchen If you're looking for a role where your culinary skills make a real difference in people's lives, we'd love to hear from you.
