What you'll do: Follow detailed recipes to prepare tasty, nutritious meals for patients, including 'special diets' tailored with help from our Registered Dietitian. Keep the kitchen clean and safe, following strict IDPH food safety rules to protect everyone. Qualifications Dietary Cook:
Officially, we title this job a Dietary Cook, but in other centers it may be called Line Cook or even an entry level Chef. What we need from you : Current CFPM (Certified Food Protection Manager) certificate PLUS a Food Handlers Certificate These are often obtained thru ServSafe, but other accredited program certificates are accepted At least 1 year of experience as a Cook/Chef in a healthcare facility or commercial/central kitchen (strongly preferred) Basic knowledge of computer-based documentation systems Understanding of good food preparation, serving techniques, and food safety and sanitation rules High school diploma or GED (preferred) Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English Ability to regularly stand for lengthy periods of time, push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds, and pass a pre-employment physical and background check Additional Information This overview/ad is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities or qualifications associated with the job. These settings include Long-term Care Skilled Nursing (SNFs), Short-term Care Rehabilitation, Intermediate Care (ICFs), and Behavioral Health Service (SMHRFs) centers.
