Club:
At The Birchwood Club, you have an opportunity to be a Grill Cook at one of North Shore's Premier Private Clubs. We pride our Club in giving exceptional service without skipping a beat. With a curated menu of Pub fare and Fine Dining, our members can seek a romantic dinner, a casual gathering with friends, or a quick cocktail in one of the outdoor lounges or bar. Club Events and Private Events are popular all year round. The pool offers memories to be made and summer fun for the whole family providing poolside dining experience. The Club has 26 racquet courts between Tennis, Pickleball and Paddleball which offers great camaraderie amongst the fellow members.

Classification:
Education and/or Experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have at least 3 years of culinary work experience in regular dining restaurants.
  • Must be able to read order tickets in English and communicate with service staff. Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
  • Possesses technical skills needed to fulfill required job duties. Must have sound knowledge of menu and abbreviation. Must possess skills to determine taste, doneness, presentation, timing and product utilization.
  • Must have the knowledge of basic culinary fundamentals.
  • Prioritizes work to ensure immediate needs are met. Tries to accommodate reasonable special requests by members and their guests.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations. Job Summary (Essential Functions) Cooks all meats according to club's standard recipes. Making the dishes for the line. Job Tasks/Duties
  • Sets-up the grill station.
  • Broils and grills all meats on the menu as ordered.
  • Prepares sauces and accompanying garnishes for all broiled and grilled menu items.
  • Covers, dates and neatly stores all meats, poultry and seafood.
  • Cleans and sanitizes the grill station.
  • Sets-up, maintains and breaks down butcher station.
  • Notifies Sous Chef in advance of all expected shortages.
  • Ensures that work station and equipment are clean and sanitary.
  • Adheres to state and local health and food safety regulations.
  • Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the broiler area and equipment.
  • Attends kitchen staff meetings.
  • Assists with other duties as instructed by the Sous Chef. Licenses and Special Requirements

  • Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach in cooler.
