Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in food preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are prepped and ready for our chefs to create delicious meals. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Duties Prepare and chop ingredients, including vegetables, meats, and herbs, using proper knife skills. Assist in the preparation of sauces, dressings, and other components for menu items. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace to adhere to food safety standards. Follow recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistency in food preparation. Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to support daily operations and catering events. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages or needs to management. Ensure all food handling practices comply with health regulations and safety standards. Requirements Previous experience as a cook or in a similar food preparation role is preferred. Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy restaurant setting. Excellent teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others in the kitchen. Experience in catering or dietary departments is a plus but not required. A passion for cooking and helping create memorable dining experiences.
