Kitchen Manager / Head Chef Job Summary We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to delivering high-quality dishes consistently. You'll prepare, cook, and present food while maintaining excellent kitchen safety and sanitation standards. Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Cooking Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food Cook menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation specifications Ensure all food is prepared and served on time, at proper temperature, and with consistent quality Adjust food items to accommodate guest allergies or special requests when needed Kitchen Operations Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment Monitor food stock levels and notify management of shortages or ordering needs Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, stoves, grills, fryers, and slicers Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, rotating stock using FIFO method Cleanliness & Safety Follow all health department regulations and ServSafe food safety standards Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout shift Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, and dishes Properly label and store all food items to prevent spoilage Teamwork & Communication Work cooperatively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members Communicate clearly with Kitchen Manager regarding any issues or concerns Help train new kitchen staff on procedures and recipes as needed
Qualifications & Skills Required:
1+ years of experience in a commercial kitchen preferred; entry-level candidates with passion welcome Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment Strong attention to detail and time management skills Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Preferred:
